Deze Duits- of Engelstalige cruise vaart over de Lena; één van de machtige Siberische rivieren aan de rand van de bewoonde wereld. In de winter is dit één van de koudste streken op Aarde, maar in de korte zomer zijn de dagen lang en is de temperatuur aangenaam. Via Moskou vliegt u naar Jakoetsk in Noord-Siberië, waar u aan boord gaat van de MS Michael Svetlov, een comfortabel cruiseschip van Oostenrijkse makelij. U bezoekt diverse nederzettingen en vaart o.a. door de Lena kloven.
Day 1. Yakutsk.
Arrival to Yakutsk. Transfer to the river port. Embarkation. City tour. Visit the Museum of Local Lore. Departure from Yakutsk. (BLD)
Day 2. Lenskie Pillars.
Arrival at the National natural park "Lenskie Pillars " (the unique natural phenomenon - abrupt rocks in the form of columns in height up to 200 meters, streatching along the river for 40 km). Ascention on the top of columns. Excursion on a viewing platform and in a taiga. Departure from Lenskie Pillars. (BLD)
Day 3. Run.
In this area the Lena river enters Central-Yakut lowland. On its way the ship passes the left tributary of Lena — Sinyaya river wgere Sinskiye pillars are situated. The right bank is scree or rocky. The river valley is almost straight. The width of the Lena is 4-5 km, and at some places 10-15 km.
Day 4. Dapparai.
A stop at a picturesque bank of Lena where there is flood every year. Here grow high fir trees, the woods are rich in berries and mushrooms. 30 houses were built at Dapparai by Anabara Diamands Company for the inhabitants of the village Kyllah which is overflowed each year.
Day 5. Lensk.
Lensk is a large river port used as a place for reception and transportation goods for diamond-mining companies. Lensk was built in 1963. Nowdays it's a modern industrial and cultural center. Lensk has very tragical history in connection with floods. In 2001 it was the most cataclismic flood.
Day 6. Vitim.
Vitim river is a right tributary of Lena. Vitim is the wildest and most peculiar rivers of the Eastern Siberia. The river length is 1978 km. In the river mouth there is village Vitim (6000 inhabitants) situated.
Day 7. Lena cheeks (1420 km from Yakutsk).
They are situated 269 km downstream from Kirensk and 172 km upstream from Vitim. Lena cheeks are cuspate rocks covered with woods. It's the most beautiful places on Lena river. The rocks dominate over the river at the height of 200 m. Here is the narrowest pass on Lena — only 200 m.
Day 8. Ura river.
A stopover at a picturesque bank of Lena at the confluence of Lena and Ura rivers. A mountain ascend expects you from which you can enjoy a beatiful view to the valley of Lena and Ura tivers.
Day 9. Olekminsk.
It's an acient town which developed as a trade center and a transfer point to Yakutsk. During Tsar times it also surved as a place for political exile. Many decemberist were sent there to exile. Many Old Believeres from Russian Orthodox Church found here their shelter as well.Nowdays in olekminsk is extracted a unic semi-precious stone — charoit. There is a timber industry enterprise, gyps quarry.
Day 10. A Green Stopover.
Our ship passes the mouth of a small river Diring-Yuryah. During many years there will be found numerous artefacts of ancient people lived on Eurasia. 40 km from Yakutsk is Tabaginsk Cape where in a few years a rail bridge over Lena will be built.
Day 11. Sottintsy.
An excursion to historic-architecture open-air museum "Druzhba" ("Friendship") located on the place of the primary foundation of the "Lensk stockaded town" founded by Russian cossacks, the future city of Yakutsk. The Museum presents samples of ancient wooden architecture in traditional Russian and Yakut styles. Expositions of wooden home utensils, national Yakut clothes and monuments of Russian Orthodoxy are of great interest. Wonderful landscapes and interesting historical excursions make the museum visit both informative and pleasant.
Day 12. Farewell Yakutia.
Arrival in Yakutsk. Breakfast. Luggage check. Transfer to airport. Departure from Yakutsk.
